The selection, the quality and the service.

Wheather you're buying fruit, meat or rice, you don't know what to buy first. You'd need weeks to taste everything! I always have the problem that when I taste it, it's so good that I want more. And then there's no room for more :-) Fruits are much sweeter than we are used to at home, vegetables are growing to unprecedented proportions.

And the service! They give you a taste, wrap it carefully and smile at you. Yes, that's how I imagine "cultural" shopping :-)
